Saudi, Turkish Foreign Minister Reaffirm Cooperation at Riyadh Meeting

Riyadh: The second meeting of the Saudi-Turkish Coordination Council took place on Sunday in Riyadh, where Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan led discussions aimed at intensifying bilateral cooperation across various sectors and enhancing joint coordination on regional and mutual interests.

The meeting, attended by high-level officials from both countries, focused on reinforcing mechanisms for collaboration and addressing significant developments in the region.

As a result of the talks, both nations signed the official minutes of the meeting, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was established to promote cooperation in diplomatic training between the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies and the Turkish Diplomatic Academy.

The MoU was formalized by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Walid Al-Kheraiji for Saudi Arabia and Dr. Nuh Yilmaz for Turkey, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening professional ties and capacity building in foreign affairs.

This renewed partnership underscores the ongoing efforts by both Riyadh and Ankara to bolster their strategic relationship, foster regional stability, and advance their common interests through structured dialogue and practical agreements.

Earlier, the ministers convened for a bilateral meeting where they explored avenues to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. The discussion also covered significant regional developments, reflecting both nations' commitment to joint engagement on pressing geopolitical issues.
